The aim of the project was to reduce the risks of fruit and berry production in order to increase the competitiveness of the Latvian fruit growing industry and stabilize the local market by obtaining high-quality and predictable products using scientifically based technological solutions. The project was developed to promote the integration of fruit and vegetable sub-sector fruit production and the implementation of research results in accordance with the national priority areas of science – “Sustainable use of local resources (subsoil, forest, food and transport) – new products and technologies” and “Innovative materials and technologies (informatics, information and signal processing technologies, nanostructured multifunctional materials and nanotechnologies “
