Scientific research “Attitudes of the owners of cultural monuments towards the status of cultural monument as a burden”

The aim of the work was to study and analyze the issue of the attitude of the owners of cultural monuments towards the status of cultural monuments as a burden.

The tasks of the research were focused on economic aspects: what encumbrance arises for the owner of a cultural monument from the economic point of view, the legality of the encumbrance and what is the public attitude towards the encumbrance due to the status of the owned monument. There are 8428 cultural monuments in Latvia, of which 5120 are of national significance and 3308 of local significance. The main methods of the study were statistical analysis and interviews.
