The aim of the study was to gain an understanding of the impact of economic factors on the process of social integration and vice versa: the impact of integration processes on the economy, which would ensure the conscious inclusion of the economic dimension in the development of integration policy strategy. The study focused on the private sector – the business environment, analyzing the situation in the public sector only in the context of general ethnic relations.

Within the framework of the research, a quantitative survey of company managers and in-depth interviews with company representatives and experts were conducted. The task of the quantitative survey was to diagnose the situation in Latvia, providing accurate information on the extent to which companies have been affected by ethnic differentiation.
