L.C.F.A. Delegation Meets with the Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (Shanghai PAFFC)
In Shanghai, the leadership of the Latvian-Chinese Friendship Association, represented by Dr. Ņina Linde, held a warm, highly creative, and productive meeting with the Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (Shanghai PAFFC).
The meeting was attended by Mr. Chen Jing, President of Shanghai PAFFC; Mr. Fu Jihong, Vice President; and Mr. Yuan Zhifeng, Deputy Director of the European and American Affairs Division.
During the exchange, both parties outlined a wide spectrum of practical bilateral initiatives:
- Youth Exchanges & Summer Camps in Shanghai: Agreement on organizing Latvian youth delegations (groups of 5 young persons and 1 accompanying adult) to participate in summer camps in Shanghai. Shanghai PAFFC generously covers all local hosting expenses, with participants covering their Riga–Shanghai–Riga travel.
- Cooperation in Art, Design & Tourism: Leveraging Shanghai’s strengths in art and creative design, both sides agreed to build targeted cultural partnerships and promote tourism as a key driver for people-to-people connections.
- Joint Think-Tank Initiatives: Establishing a platform for collaborative expert discussions and research between the two associations.
- Editorial Support for “China Times EU”: Shanghai PAFFC expressed its full readiness to contribute specialized content and features on modern Shanghai, focusing on sustainability, transportation, safety, and contemporary development.
- EXPO Shanghai 2026: Special attention was dedicated to the upcoming EXPO Shanghai on November 9, 2026. The leadership of Shanghai PAFFC extended a warm invitation for a Latvian business delegation to participate in this landmark event.
